Review of Howard Leight Impact Sport Electronic Hearing Protection
Sat Apr 19 2008
The Impact Sport electronic earmuff amplifies low-level ambient sounds, like range commands and conversations, while instantly reducing the potentially damaging sounds of gunfire. The Impact sport has a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) 22.
Water-resistant, directionally placed microphones enable the user to pinpoint the location of incoming sounds while maintaining the crisp clarity of voices and other signals. There is a single switch for both on/off and volume with an automatic 4-hour shutoff helps to extend the 350 hour battery life.
A great feature of these ear protectors is the input jack, so you can plug in a radio, walkie talkie, CD player, MP3 player or anything else you might want to listen to while wearing these ear muffs.
With the ear cups extended and closed
Two AAA batteries run both sides of these electronic ears. Which must be lighter..
Since I know a few people who use these now, I mark mine inside the battery compartment
Two of us shot the Tactical Rifle Match at Pima Pistol Club in April 2008 with the Impact Sport for ear protection. We both give them two thumbs up, they worked great
